Viviana Bonura

"Dodici" ("Twelve") is a year-long project of photographs and texts that documents the investigation of

the radical changes that occurred at the end of my adolescence, during a gap-year I took after finishing high school.

While my peers enrolled at universities or got a job, I felt the need to get out of a predetermined road, so for the first time I let myself do somethings that described who I was and what I wanted for my future. Photography helped me understand that and was my new beginning.

By choosing an intimate storytelling the project takes the shape of a personal diary, where the snapshots of both unknown and familiar faces, corners of the city, and still lifes are punctuated by handwritten notes, dates, and places.
